Hamish McTurk tours

Now that it’s certain that we’re going to Olu Deniz, I’ve been looking at places we can go and visit.

While we’re almost certainly going to visit Kayakoy, my girlfriend found a local tour operator called HAmish McTurk which looks like it offers some good excusions.

The only problem, really, is that we’ll only be there for 7 days, so our sight-seeing time will probably be limited in having young children.

However, there are a couple of tours that look especially nice.

The main one of interest is to Hierapolis and Pamukkale, which looks quite stunning - old Roman city (granted, not much left), and then amazing calcium terraces formed by volcanic springs.

A quick look online and Yahoo Answers suggests that it takes 6 hours to get there, so I’m not sure if this is going to work with having the children around - 6 hours there plus 6 back is an awful lot to ask of them - but is definitely an excursion worth checking up on when we get there.

Meanwhile, a couple of nice pictures of Hierapolis and Pamukkale to whet the appetite:
