Holiday tips for Turkey Holidays

Well, we came back from Lykia World by Olu Deniz in Turkey last weekend.

Generally, a very enjoyable time to be had for all. :)

A few holiday tips, though:

1. A week is far too short in Turkey. There’s too much to do, too much to see. 10 days would be a minimum recommendation.

2. The flights to Turkey are often at awful times - our return flight from Dalaman to Gatwick was 03:10 am! However, I noticed in the pick up timetables that Monday flight times were generally reasonable - afternoons. Therefore, try and book your holiday to fly on Mondays!

3. Try and learn a little Turkish. Hello (Merhaba), please (Lutfen), thank you (Teshekuler), goodbye (Gule gule). Most Turks seem amazed that anyone wants to bother with their otherwise easily over looked language, and will often go to extra lengths to be of help if you go to extra lengths to say basic words in Turkish.

And here’s a few pics. :)
